Logitech G331 Stereo Gaming Headset Review

Logitech is introducing a variety of gaming gears under the G-gaming brand, expanding its product lineup to a variety of areas, away from being simply an input device manufacturer for PCs such as keyboard mice. In particular, it is one of the most active companies to market gaming headsets today.

The Logitech G331 is a new entry-level stereo headset that excludes additional features such as USB DAC and supports purely analog terminals. Here, the parent model with USB DAC is Logitech G431. In this way, Logitech has split its headset lineup into considerable detail to respond to the diverse needs of gamers.

Since the Logitech G331 is a stereo headset that supports analog connections only, the packaging configuration is much simpler than other higher-end models. The component is a simple configuration with only Y cables for connecting your PC sound card.

Previous Logitech headsets were based on Y cables with analog terminals separated from microphone output and stereo sound input. In contrast, the Logitech G331 uses a four-pole combojack that allows the primary terminal to connect to the smartphone and tablet.

Recently, big FPS games such as Battleground have been released on mobile, and mobile games often require headset. Previously, Logitech's entry-level headsets were difficult to write on the mobile or console without a separate conversion jack, but now the Logitech G331 is ready for use. This is a model that you can recommend to users who want to use the headset on a variety of devices, including the PS / XBOX / smartphone / tablet.

The basic design of the Logitech G331 is almost the same as the previous generation, the G430. Almost the only cosmetic change from the G430 has been made from the airy mesh material to the advanced synthetic leather material on the inner pads of the headband. In addition, design features such as the acrobatically moving headband adjustment angle and the folding microphone remain intact.

Logitech G331 rotates the headphone unit at 90 degrees. This reduces the height of the headphones when they are stored and moved, helping with the rest of the day. The wide range of adjustments also facilitates positioning of the headset to the user's various features.

The reason why ear pads and headband pads have changed from mesh to leather seems to be due to the durability of the material. The mesh pad has the advantage of being airy and easy to wash, but it also needs to absorb perspiration and wash it frequently, and also has the durability of the material itself at the same time.

Leather pads, on the other hand, have a high pitch and a good sound quality. Sweat can be disadvantageous to a gaming headset when worn for a long time, but the material itself is durable and does not require frequent washing.

With low-end gaming headsets, users are more likely to not be able to manage their pads well. In this sense, the change to a durable synthetic leather pad rather than a demanding mesh pad has made it more suitable for light users' use patterns.

The Logitech G331 weighs 259 grams and is part of a light axis with a microphone integral full-size headset. This provides a comfortable, long-term wear that will not strain your neck.

In comparison to the almost identical design of the Logitech G430 experience, the leather pad changes from Logitech G331 have somewhat less skin contact than the previous mesh pad. This is because the pad has a weak cushion and feels a bit stiff. So the amount of wear on the skin is less than the G430.

This is also assumed to be a priority change in durability. The soft material inside the pad improves the fit but reduces durability. The design is somewhat understandable, considering that users who use low-end headset mainly deal with headset roughness.

The microphone uses a flip microphone with almost the same design as the one we used in the previous Logitech G430. The microphone can be folded up when not in use. The microphone is rubber-like and flexible. This makes it easier to adjust to your mouth and reduces the risk of physical damage.

Logitech G331 has no mute switch, but when the microphone is raised it will mute. Whenever you mute the microphone, you simply fold the microphone without having to find a switch, making it intuitive to do so.

Volume adjustment can be adjusted by dialing in the back corner of the left ear cup with the microphone attached. Adjustment is analogous, allowing volume control quickly and intuitively It is properly positioned in a position that is easy to turn with the left thumb during actual operation.

To maximize the sound quality of your Logitech G331, it is recommended that you adjust the analog volume of your Logitech G331 while keeping the digital volume on the side of the connected device to maximum. You can increase the digital volume as much as possible and minimize the use of analog volumes to reduce sound noise.
