Fully wireless earphone ITW-D500 Gemstone Review

Just a few years ago, wireless earphones looked a long way to go. It's expensive, it's a short battery, and the wireless connection is less reliable. But now I'm dealing with a full wireless earphone that costs only a few dollars. I only review it when I try it myself and I think it's good enough, which means I've improved enough to recommend a few dozen dollars worth of full wireless earphones. That's what I'm going to introduce today.

This is a fully-wireless earphone from Iriver, with the model number ITW-D500 and its nickname is Gemstone. For the lowest price search, go to ITW-D500. It's sixty dollars. Including sound and design. The day I received the product was the end of July, but after three weeks of using it, I'm writing a review. It was an earphone that was easy to use in life and secretly satisfied.

ITW-D500 Gemstone is a tiny codeless earphone. So... The main body of the earphone is a bit large, but the carring case is very small. The carring case is quite thick with a generous battery, but the volume and area are small enough to fit into the jeans pocket. So, if you talk about batteries for a moment, the earphones for this product are about four and a half hours, and they're about as long as they're actually used. The battery capacity of the earphone itself is 45 mAh and the casing battery capacity is 580 mAh. So you can charge the earphones with the case about five times.
*Note: The inside electrode of the earphone has a transparent film on it when it is first opened. Be sure to remove this film before using it (as if it is preventing battery discharge)!

You can see why this object is called Gemstone right away in design. There are black and white colors, the earphone body is both highly polished and winged like a custom earphone. In the picture below, the wing area that protrudes above the earphone is securely fastened to the inside of the earpiece. Of course, each person has different ear shapes, so the wing part may not fit in the ear. So did I. The weight of the earphones is very light, so even if you put the ear tips in the ear canal, they will be worn firmly. However, if you actually wear it, you'll notice that noise abatement is surprisingly low, and the housing has only one tiny hole, which combines an LED and a microphone hole, so the back of the dynamic driver inside is probably open. When used indoors, you may experience noise abatement, but when you go outside, you will definitely hear the car or motorbike behind you. This is the same if worn so that the wing part is fully in the ear.

In addition to this product, there are more and more fully wireless earphones that resemble custom earphones. It will be a welcome flow for me because the more similar the shape of the custom earphone and the housing, the less pressure on the earring. ITW-D500 Gemstone looks like a glittering pebble when you put it in your ear. The glazing coating on the surface of the housing is clean and free from dirt, so you may want to choose a white color. Black is a good place to see fingerprints on the surface, but white is not going to do that. And~! The surface is very smooth and slippery, so you have to hold it firmly when you hold it with your hand. Be careful not to drop it on the road! It also provides a way to live, so you can rest easy on the street. (Nano coating inside)

The exterior of the housing has a touch function on both sides. It's not a hard-pressed physical button, so there's less pressure on the ear. To prevent the touch pad from malfunctioning, it is necessary to clarify the touch. Most features are double taps, which require a double tap on the outer centre of the earphone. You need to adapt at first, but you'd better set it up like this than a sensitive touch pad that works with just the collar. And... unfortunately, there's no volume tuning of the earphones themselves. You need to take out your smartphone to adjust the volume. But the good thing about this is that it's also volume-linked in LG smartphones. My V20 has a separate volume operation for most Bluetooth earphones, and the ITW-D500 is connected.

I'm using the iPhone 8 and rarely talking on the phone, and I'm using the second generation of airpots to talk for a long time. Yes, it means you've never talked to ITW-D500. Generally, cordless earphones are difficult to communicate clearly because of the 'location' of the earphones, not because of a performance problem with the microphone. The closer the microphone is to the user's mouth, the better, but a complete wireless earphone without a cable is located in the user's ear and is completely remote. I don't know what the ITW-D500 looks like, but I'd love to have a good voice call. It's a wish I haven't checked yet. For your information, this product has a microphone built into each channel on the left and right, so there is a high chance that your voice call will work well.

As I mentioned in the beginning of the article, ITW-D500 Gemstone has several advantages over full wireless earphones. Bluetooth 5.0, using Realtek's chipset, has a significantly longer battery use and a small carring case. Features touch input, life-proof nano coatings, and satisfactory connection stability. I used it outside with the iPhone 8, but it's never been broken. The connection between the left and right channels is maintained and the Bluetooth connection to the smartphone is not splashed. Still... let's not deliberately approach a wireless router using a 2.4 GHz frequency. Bluetooth earphones also use 2.4 GHz radio waves, so they are interrupted when they are right next to the wireless router.

I also like the fact that there are very few sound delays. The simple way to see this is to listen to the typing sound of a smartphone or watch a YouTube video to see if your mouth and voice match. The ITW-D500 didn't lose its typing sound unless it was quickly typing on the iPhone 8, and it also did well on YouTube. I don't know about the other video apps, but these two tests didn't work.

The title of the article is 'Glass Brightness and Clearness of Sound and Design'. It's a sentence that expresses what I felt in the appearance and sound of ITW-D500. The earphone housing is smooth and shiny like a glass surface, and the sound from the earphones is bright and clear. It's good because I don't feel any white noise while using the product. While some Bluetooth earphones may have strong white noise when pairing or when playing music, ITW-D500 did not have that problem. Enjoy quiet music in a quiet room.

It has a dynamic driver with a diameter of 8mm, which is quite large in codeless earphones. And the sound is very clear. While many earphones emphasize high-pitched and low-pitched sounds, Gemstone has a very thick middle-pitched voice. Frequency response measurements will reveal areas highlighted at high and low tones, but in actual listening you will experience balanced sound with bold lines. At first listening it sounds clear and comfortable, but if you use it more, it sounds pretty bright and clear. Low pitch is highlighted in a gravity similar to medium sound, which makes a sound sound but does not interfere with the medium sound emphasis. The vocal and stringed instruments are so distinct that the acoustic guitar performance and the singer's voice go well together. It also has a fast response speed, a low-pitched sound that is generally slightly dry and clean. It means that it is not an earphone that interprets music with strong emotion. I recommend you to those who prefer a clear, high-pitched sound with bright and clear-cut tones rather than a gentle, soft sound.
